Gamdol is a flowering plant which is found in the eastern
and the western Himalayas, Nepal, Aasam and India. Its scientific name is
Barchycorythis Obcordata and its common name is The Reverse Heart shape
Brachycorthis, its Nepali name is Gamdol. It is found in the altitude of 1400m
to 2000m. It is mainly found in the hilly area of the Nepal. It is about 5 to
15 cm long and gives about 11 to 15 flowers. The flower size is about 1.25 cm. Its
flower is purple in color.
As every medicinal herb has got their own use like that it
has also got some uses also. The root of this plant is used as the medicine. It
helps to cure dysentery. It is taken with milk as a tonic nutritious. It is not
very harmful to us. It is also not used as cosmetics as it won’t help in the
development of our face.
It should not be made medicine to take it in order to cure
diseases. As it is not made medicine, it should not be packaged and sold in the
market.
My opinion about this plant is very different. As it is not
made medicine than how can they be transferred to the other part of the
country? If it is grown in the Himalayas than how to find them in Terai
regions. It can’t cure many diseases; it is also not made medicinal form also.
The nice thing of this plant is that it gives nutritious value to the
patient/people.
