v Introduction:
GURJO is a large, deciduous extensively spreading climbing shrub with several elongated twining branches. Leaves simple, alternate, estipulate, long petioles up to 15 cm long, roundish, pulvinate, both at the base and apex with the basal one longer and twisted partially and half way around. Lamina broadly ovate or ovate chordate, 10–20 cm long or 8– 15
cm broad.
Ø Scientific name; Tinspora cordifolia (wild) mires.
Ø English name; Moon creepers/ Gaulancha tinospora.
Ø Indian name; Gaulancha
Ø Nepali name; Gurjo
Ø Common name; (Guduchi) Sanskrit , (Gaulancha) Bengali , (Guduchi) Marathi
 



Range;
Gaulancha tinospora is found in following countries;
India, Nepal, Philippines, Indonesia, Srilanka, Thailand, Myanmar, China and other countries too.
     

Chemistry;

    The gaulancha contains Galion, Cordifolia, Tinosporol, crude, Gilenin, etc 



Uses:
It is very useful herbs. Some uses are as follows:
vIt is used in chronic diarrhea, chronic dysentery, Diabetes, Gonorrhea.
vIt is also used for various urinary trouble.

Disadvantage:
The disadvantages are as follows:
·      Excess use may cause irritation.
·      Do not consume during pregnancy.
                                                                                                                                                                                                          
Ways for preparing gujro ?
Ø The ways for preparing gujro are as follow;
*Cut gurjo stem into pieces. Each piece should be 3 to 4 inch.
*Remove the outer husk.
*Crush the stem pieces and soak them in water for 6 to 8 hours.
*The infused mixture releases a starchy substance.
*Remove the fibrous and woody part.
*Let the starchy material settle down in utensil.
*Remove the water carefully.
*Clean the starchy sediment with water.
*Dry it in shade.
*Store in a air tight glass or a moisture proof polythene bag.
*After opening the container ,use within one month.
Conclusion:
So, at last I would like to say that Gurjo is useful to us but excess use can also harm.                                                                                                                     But to know other detail please use it.
